What to do with Your Flowers After Valentine’s Day?

We usually receive flowers from our loved ones especially on Valentine’s Day. But what do you do with it aside from placing it in the vase with water? Here are some things that I did with the flowers that Busy gave me.

Put it in the Vase with Water

Just keep your bouquet in the water so they can live longer. While in the vase, the flowers which are still in a bud while in the bouquet are now opening and turning out very beautiful. Just like these…

One of the 3 buds of the Stargazer bud started to open. Usually flower shops remove the orange pollen in the middle because it can stain your clothes and it can sometimes prompt allergies.

Plant the Stem that Developed Some Roots

There are some leaves or flowers in the bouquet that can live again by just placing it on water. These plants are usually replanted by cutting and planting, this plant is one of them.

I noticed that roots grew! So, I got it from the vase. The roots are tangled too much that’s why I can’t separate them.

The roots are inseparable… just like us… 😆 Please excuse my cheezinesss… Valentine’s Day is near again haha.

So, I got a clean empty plastic container then I put holes at the bottom. This will serve as my pot, these holes will release any excess water when I sprinkle it with water,

Tada! I placed the plant inside together with some soil from our garden.

After a year, I think it has doubled its size. I placed it in a larger pot and the 3 stems are still tangled together, I really can’t separate them.

Be Creative with Pressed Flowers

Did you ever had Yellow pages telephone directory books in your house? Haha yes we still have those, I use them to press leaves and flowers. Busy usually give me flowers, so I place them in these telephone directory to be pressed.

Colors are still different with pressed leaves and flowers, just like this pressed petals of Roses.

After pressing, you can use them as a part of a bookmark, or even a card for your next Valentine’s Day!
