Before our trip to Bohol, I was looking for awesome beach front resorts in Alona Beach, but I am also making sure that the price was reasonable. Through research, I have decided to book Alona Tropical Beach Resort.
So here is our review on Alona Tropical Beach Resort 🙂
Booking the resort
We booked Alona Tropical Beach Resort in Agoda because their rates were lower in Agoda than the Hotel. Also, they have the “free cancellation”, and “pay later” options.
If you wish to book directly with the resort, you can check out the price list and the contact details of the resort found at the end of this blog. 🙂
Checking in Alona Tropical Beach Resort
Alona Tropical Beach Resort was easy to find and very much accessible from the road. It was just located in between of Hennan Resort and Amorita Resort.
As we entered the gates, our bags were taken and we were greeted by the lovely receptionists 🙂
Their lobby was also inviting.
Going to our room
After a while, we were escorted to our room.
The area of Alona Tropical Beach Resort was huge. But I’ll discuss the surroundings and amenities of the resort later 🙂
I booked a Deluxe Air-conditioned room. The resort has a lot of these rooms but we were placed close to the beach. I also requested for a room at the ground floor because I’m with my mom, and going up the stairs can be tiring for her 🙂
Here is what our room looks like outside. There were two chairs, a table, and a drying rack. In the evening, mosquito coils were left by the staff of the resort to drive out mosquitoes in the resort.
The room was around 24 m² and it has two single beds (there is an option of one double bed).
A television, cabinet with a mirror, table, chair, mugs, and a water heater were also available.
There were also several hangers and a safe inside the cabinet.
Here is what the comfort room looks like. Towels and toiletries such as shampoo, soap, and tissue papers were available.
Their shower has a hot or cold option.
As of 2018, the resort has 62 rooms available.
Alona Beach
The resort is a beach front property so we had an easy access to Alona Beach.
It was so easy to relax in Alona beach.
There were a lot of foreigners sunbathing in-front of the resort because the resort is located at the end of Alona Beach, so it was quiet and there were lesser walking people.
Take note that it looks like one of them does not have any clothing, but she actually have a thong and a bra. Taking all of your clothes off is not accepted in the beach.
There were seaweeds during our visit in Alona beach. But according to the locals, the seaweeds were washed up on the shore of Alona beach for a few months, then in other months the seaweeds were washed up in other beached of Bohol.
Do not worry about the seaweeds because the staff of the resort always clean the beach area by burying the seaweeds deep in the sand.
My mom and I loved the location of the resort. We asked for a sunbathing chair from the staff present in the area, and we relaxed on the beach, under the tree.
I think it was good that they do not leave the sunbathing chairs just laying around the beach.
My mom loved staying on the beach so much that we were still at the beach even though it was dark already 🙂
Alona Tropical Beach Resort’s location was really PERFECT! Aside from there was an easy access to the beach, there were only few people at the beach front.
Here is what the resort looks like when you are in Alona Beach. This structure is their restaurant.
The resort is really not that visible from the beach because there were a lot of trees and plants surrounding the resort.
The resort also has a beachfront suite which was literally in-front of Alona Beach.
Here is one of the pathway going in the resort from the Alona Beach area.
Amenities of Alona Tropical Beach Resort
One of the amenities in the resort was the appealing swimming pool.
There were sunbathing chairs, and a kiddie pool.
There were also suites which were located in-front of the pool.
The surroundings
The resort also has a guard…. a mighty guard…. The Chinese Sharpei! 🙂 He is so cute! He even barks on litter so you better grab your litter and put it inside the litter bin hahaha 🙂
A wishing well can also be found in the resort. But I think it was under maintenance when we visited.
We were always glad when we walk or roam around the resort. It was because of the surroundings, the resort was full of plants and trees making the area cool.
As we looked above, we were surrounded by large trees.
Swings made out of wood were also available for relaxation 🙂
It was so pleasant to relax in the resort. I love the placement of the chairs and the landscaping of their garden.
The Antique House
There was also an antique house in the resort.
The house was very noticeable when we entered the vicinity of the resort.
The entrance of the house was just the start 🙂
As soon as we entered, there was an altar.
There were a lot of antique stuffs inside the house. Just look at this Sto Nino.
Most of the antique stuffs were religious items.
Frankz Bar
The resort also has a beachfront wine bar, the Frankz Bar. It was named after the owner of the resort.
Baybayon Restaurant
The resort also has a restaurant, the Baybayon Reataurant, which means “along the beach”.
The restaurant’s operating hours were 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM
A sofa area with a television was also placed in the restaurant.
Here is the menu of the restaurant:
Breakfast was not included in my booking with the resort, so I just ordered Carbonara and Mango shake for my breakfast.
To my surprise, the Carbonara looks like the usual, but it really tasted good! I even ordered it for another meal while we were in the resort.
The Mango shake also tasted good, it was not too sweet and it was made out of real mangoes 🙂
My mom ordered Spaghetti and coffee, but I did not had the chance to take a photo hahaha
Conclusion
Overall our stay was fantastic. If I am going to Bohol again, I will definitely book Alona Tropical Beach Resort again.
The resort is a bit underrated, I think the resort should be talked about just like Hennan and Amorita.
