Cebu Pacific Launches Cadet Pilot Program with Airworks Aviation
The top airline in the Philippines, Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), has partnered with Airworks Aviation, a flight training facility located in Cebu, to introduce the Cadet Pilot Program, which provides prospective pilots with mentorship, training opportunities, and a job guarantee with the airline.
Signing of Memorandum
CEB signed a memorandum of agreement with Airworks Aviation to formalize the partnership on the Cadet Pilot Program.
CEB and Airworks Aviation executed a memorandum of understanding, so they can formally establish the collaboration on the Cadet Pilot Program.
The 96-week, self-funded CEB Cadet Pilot Program prepares participants to get a commercial pilot license. A link to the official application form will be available to all interested applicants during the first part of the application period, which will run from June 7 to June 13, 2024, through CEB’s official communication platforms.
“We’re thrilled to offer aspiring pilots the opportunity to become commercially licensed through our Cadet Pilot Program. Currently, we are the only airline in the Philippines with a cadet pilot program. This initiative will allow us to produce highly skilled pilots ready to provide safe, convenient, and reliable flights for every Juan,” said Capt. Samuel Avila II, CEB Vice President for Flight Operations.
Career in the Airline Industry
Every employment in the aviation sector generates 29 additional jobs in the tourism, supply chain, and other associated industries, according to data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Vincent Charles Ong, President of Airworks Aviation, stated that he was looking forward to the training course.
“For thirty years, Airworks Aviation has grown steadily to enable aspiring pilots to pursue a career in aviation. This cadet pilot program, which we launched together with Cebu Pacific, will allow us to further provide aspiring pilots with the means to fulfill their dreams at the most competitive cost and incentives. Together, we are forging the future of aviation in the country,” Ong said.
Cadet Pilot Program
The CEB will invite the selected candidates to a panel interview. Those who make it through the panel interview process will next be directed to a partner medical facility for a medical evaluation. Following completion of all medical evaluations, candidates will be assigned to a training batch, contingent upon acceptance of the Cadet Pilot Program’s terms and conditions.
There are three stages to the curriculum. A four-week Aviation Foundation Course is offered in Pasay City, Metro Manila, during the first phase.
In order to finish the Basic Flight Training for 68 weeks, the cadets will be sent to the Airworks Aviation Academy at Mactan International Airport, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, for their second phase of training.
Finally, the cadets would be returned to Pasay City, Metro Manila, for a 24-week course called Airline Integration Training.
Who will Finance the Cebu Pacific Cadet Pilot Program?
CEB and Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) have teamed up! To help prospective pilots meet the financial demands of their training, BPI will offer credit options. This is only available to participants in the Cadet Pilot Program. Sponsors of the cadet applicants, such as parents or guardians, can also apply for loans from BPI.
