When is it OKAY to Travel as a Friend?
Busy and I love to travel and try different things, but sometimes I travel without him. Usually, he is not available, or sometimes my trip is just for a certain group of people only. Recently, the topic of traveling with a friend of the opposite sex is on the news, so I’m joining the bandwagon. Here is my opinion on when is it okay to travel as a friend.
1. If your partner is aware.
Of course! You have to ask your partner if it is okay for him/her that you will go on a trip with a friend of the opposite sex. You should always be open with him/her.
Whenever I go on a vacation without Busy, I always ask him if it is okay or I just simply tell him. Hahaha
2. Your travel buddy is a long-time friend.
There will be no doubt that you and your friend are just regular friends while traveling. You have done it a lot of times already because you are friends for a long time.

Just like me, I have traveled to different places with some of my long-time friends a lot of times already.

3. If you are travelling in a group.
Of course, this is a group trip! It is very okay to travel as friends.

4. Your relationship is not on the rocks.
If your relationship is on the rocks, you are sad. Most likely, you are heartbroken. The cause of your sadness is your relationship, so you shouldn’t go on a trip with the opposite sex.
You might develop feelings for each other ( usually a fling) because you are looking for that missing part in your current rocky relationship.
5. You are single.
Lastly, it is very much okay to travel as a friend if you are single. Well…. you will never know, that friend might be your future partner just like Busy and me.

When is it NOT OKAY to Travel as a Friend?
I also want to share my opinion on when is it not okay to travel as a friend. Here are some of the situations that I have thought of. Keep in mind that these situations are for those who are already in a relationship.
1. Your relationship is on the rocks
Your relationship is on the rocks! Why are you on a trip with someone of the opposite sex, especially if you just met the person, or he/she is not your long-time friend?
2. The trip is secret
Your partner may know that you are in a certain place but does not know that you are just with one person of the opposite sex. You are keeping this a secret, why?
3. You just met the person
This is just okay if this is a group or joiners tour, but if it’s just you the other person, it can be seen as not okay.
Just keep in mind, it is okay to travel with the opposite sex, but think about your situation.
