Taiwan’s Presidential Office Building ( 總統府 )
Every nation with a president should have their own office building, so here is Taiwan’s Presidential Office Building. In the Philippines we call ours as Malacanang Palace, while the United States of America they call it as The White House.
This was built during the Japanese colonial period in Taiwan, it was damaged during world war II, and it was then restored after the war. Just imagine being near one of the buildings that has seen history.
The Presidential Office Building is just a 10-minute walk away from our hotel. So, we made this our first destination for our second day. It is also beside some tourist destinations like the 228 Park, Ximending area, and National Taiwan Museum.
Other Information
- Visiting the building inside is allowed
- Operating hours may differ, but usually it is open from 9AM – 12PM
- Time spent: 5 mins

Our Journey to the Presidential Office Building
We started walking from Orange Hotel Kaifong to Taiwan’s Presidential Office Building.
While in our walk, we also saw some government buildings like the Financial Holdings Building, and the National Development Council Building.
They almost looked the same.
Taiwan’s Presidential Office Building
Roads are all around the building, plus there are some landscaped gardens too.
The security is tight too! There are a lot of guards on patrol. But they are friendly with tourists 🙂
