Situated in Carabao Island, Ocean’s Edge Resort, a 4-star resort opened its doors for guests last April 1, 2019. During our visit last October 2018 in Carabao Island, we had a chance to visit the construction site of Ocean’s Edge Resort. So, after the construction, we went back and visited the resort during their soft opening. We were in the resort just a few days after their opening.

Going to Ocean’s Edge Resort
We booked a flight to Caticlan Airport then we were fetched by the staff of Ocean’s Edge Resort. We were brought to SE Resort in Caticlan because there are also some guests who will be with us going to the resort.
After a while, the other guests also arrived and we were ready to go to the resort!
We went inside the boat and settled in.
A bar is also created in the boat, but is not yet in operation during our visit. But we were offered water to beat the heat 🙂
The boat ride takes around 1 hour to 1.5 hours, so just in case you need to pee, a comfort room is available.
From Caticlan, we passed by all of the stations in Boracay, so we really enjoyed the boat ride.
Then, we arrived on the island.
Usually the boat docks just right in front of the resort, however due to the low tide, our boat docked at another beach. Then, their van picked us up and brought us to the resort.
Checking In
As soon as we arrived, we were given Apple Cinnamon drinks.
And we also got our keys. We will stay in Muni Muni Villas, which is the Cliff Villa! Yey!
The reception area is at the top of the cliff, so we had to go down the stairs.
There we saw the Muni Muni Villas! It looks awesome already.
Muni Muni Villas
The Muni Muni Vilas or the Cliff Villas are the best villas in the resort. Why? Continue to read and we’ll show you why.
The Bed
We love the simplicity of the bed, it compliments the room.
Plus, the bed and the pillows are soft, and the sheets are clean smell great.
The Comfort Room
One of the highlights of the villa is the comfort rooms. Even from our visit last October 2018, it was obvious that this will be one of the best.
The comfort room was huge!
Just imagine using the toilet, while listening to the birds and looking into the beautiful view from the comfort room. Do not worry, people passing by the ocean can’t see you, the glare on the mirror keeps your privacy.
Above the sink is the mirror, and a hair dryer is below it.
We also love the toiletries! I usually bring my own toiletries, but I smelled the soap that Busy used, it was fragrant! So I also used it also hahaha.
The Balcony
Before our trip to Ocean’s Edge Resort, we were excited already. It is because of the balcony and the view of the ocean from our villa.
During our stay we stayed here for a while to chitchat. It was lovely to stay here because you get to see the boats passing by, some fisherman, and hear the ocean, and the birds chirping.
The resort faces the west, so watching the sunset and taking your silhouette is a must do here.
Now I know why is it called Muni Muni Villas, it is because Muni Muni is a Filipino word which means “to reflect.” Guests can really reflect on anything while in the villa.
The view from the balcony was really good!
It’s just me roaming around the balcony, looking for the best view.
There it is!
From the side of our villa, we can see the other villas. We tried to see if we can see the front of each villa just to make sure we have our privacy, but we really can’t see it. Privacy is perfect! The villas were placed intelligently so that each guest can have their privacy.
Other features
Our bags were brought to us and placed here. I just arranged it like this so it will look cute in the picture haha 😆 But seriously I love how they have this area for our bags.
Did you also noticed the Bayong and Hat? The Bayong is a traditional Filipino bag, which is very useful and spacious. These can be used inside the resort.
Glasses, water pitchers, and reusable water bottles are also available. As much as possible, the resort also wants to lessen the trash. So, they refill the pitchers with drinking water instead of giving out water bottles.
The resort is very considerate, they let you use this refillable bottle while touring Carabao Island, plus you can also bring this bottle home!
Inside the room, there is a refrigerator, a Television (cable channels to come), coffee maker, complimentary coffee, a cabinet with hangers, and a study table. Bath towels, Hand towels, and bathrobes are also available.
Kalinaw Villa
There are just two types of villas in the resort, the Muni Muni Villa, and this Kalinaw Villa.
We didn’t have a chance to see it because it is still under construction during our visit. But we think the villas will also look good.
Bahandi Clubhouse
The swimming pool, bar, and restaurant can be found in Bahandi Clubhouse.
Swimming Pool
Ocean’s Edge Resort has a magnificent infinity swimming pool.
The mini pool at the lower left of the picture is a Jacuzzi, you just have to request the staff to open the Jacuzzi so you can enjoy it.
Busy and I usually swim at night hahaha, we do not want to burn our skin too much.
The Bar
Even though they are still on soft opening, they have a complete bar.
One of the guests ordered a drink, the Amorita Sour. We just took a photo of it because Busy and I usually do not drink 🙂
A lounge is also available at the bar so you can sit and relax here.
The Restaurant
Busy and I love restaurants…. because it serves food! Hahahaha we love food so much!

The Menu
The Food
Here are some of the food that we ordered.
English Skillet
Our favorite of course is the breakfast because it is included in the package already haha. We stayed in the resort for 3 days and 2 night, but we always order the English Skillet breakfast. The dish is usually served toasted bread, but I do not want it toasted, so I just requested for a fresh slice of bread.
Busy on the other hand had the same dish but he requested it with rice.
The dish contains two pieces of breakfast sausage, bacon, baked beans, two eggs, grilled tomato, sauteed mushrooms, and toasted bread.
Coffee, tea, or other fruit juices such as Cranberry, Orange, Pineapple, Raspberry were also served together with the dish.
When we had this, we were full until late in the afternoon because the serving is really a lot! For the taste, who can’t go wrong with Bacon? Hahaha of course the dish tasted good! Ordering the dish is really worth it.
By the way, complimentary fresh fruits were also served for our breakfast
All Meat Pizza
For our first dinner, we had All Meat Pizza. The toppings are Italian sausage, Pepperoni, Ham, Bacon, Basil, Pomodoro Sauce, and Mozzarella Cheese.
It was delicious and it can feed two persons.
Chicken Noodle Soup
For our second night, we planned not to have our dinner because we just went to Poblacion Beach and we ate a lot of snacks. But after swimming, I thought of having a few bite of any snack. So, I asked the staff of what is the dish with the smallest serving portion. He said it was the Chicken and Noodle Soup.
To my surprise, the dish also has a large serving size. So I called Busy to help me finish the dish. But we both did not finish it. I asked if we can have it together with our breakfast, the staff said yes and it was served hot again together with our breakfast the next day.
Other Cakes and Pastries
There are also various cakes and pastries in the restaurant.
The Beach
Busy and I went down to check on the beach of the resort.
The place looks like a good place to hangout.
The sand on the beach is not fine, but it was made out of pretty tiny stones.

The surroundings of the resort was really aligned with nature, that’s why even some Coconut Crabs, an endangered specie, visit the resort.

A small boat is used to bring us to the private boat.
We were sad that we have to go home so early, but we were thankful because had a great time in the resort.

Happy and Busy’s Smileys
Overall our stay in the resort was delightful. I wish we could’ve stayed longer (but I do not have any vacation leaves already haha). May I suggest to everyone ho will go to Boracay, to stay in the resort for a few days first, then transfer to their resort in Boracay.
Cleanliness
The surroundings of the resort were always kept clean. The staff always sweeps the sand, the sun bathing beds were always kept clean. Our room was also clean when we checked in, we did not request for a room make up, but the staff informed us that we can always request for it.
Facilities
The pool, view, and the rooms were great! We were in the resort during the soft opening, so there is no cable television yet, and the Wifi is just available at the reception. But there will still be developments in the future.
Service
Staff of the resort were those who were from Lanas Beach Resort because the owner is just the same. The owners will close Lanas so they transferred their staff here. Just like in Lanas, the staff gave us great service. Even though they are not yet used to a bigger resort, they are continuing to learn to serve the guests better.
Value for money
The rates of the resort is just right for the quality of your stay, delicious food, and superb service of the staff.
Location
Ocean’s Edge Resort is located in Carabao Island which is just a boat away from Caticlan. It is not very easy to reach, but the location gave it the perfect ambiance.
Ambiance
Perfect! The ambiance is perfect! The resort gave us a view of the sunset, garden, cliff, and the ocean.
Food
I just mentioned earlier that the serving was big! Plus the food also tasted good! I suggest that you order your food ahead of time, so you won’t have to wait for your food.
